You can feel it in the air. Everybody’s been waiting for a real rock band to emerge and take over. There’s nothing on the Coachella main stage or the radio with grit, gusto, and scope or the timelessness that the genre’s best deliver. That’s just the truth. However, it’s about to change. Bring Me The Horizon are that band we’ve been waiting for. They resonate in the manner that everybody from Nirvana to Nine Inch Nails has, speaking directly to the hearts and minds of fans everywhere. All signs point to their fifth album, That’s the Spirit [Columbia], elevating them to arena status stateside when it releases on Friday, September 11, 2015. The group already holds that crown worldwide as a bona fide festival headliner, but in the U.S. they’ve been breaking in a very striking manner.
2013’s Sempiternal soared to #11 on the Billboard Top 200 and had literally everybody talking. At the first-ever Alternative Press Awards in 2014, it won “Best Album,” while being nominated for “Best Album” at the Kerrang! Awards a year prior. They launched a massive run in the U.S. with Of Mice & Men, The American Dream Tour, selling out venues left and right during 2014, before returning home to close out the Sempiternal campaign with a show for the books, headlining Wembley Arena.
